Relationships That Strengthen Faith

As the church celebrates its 18th anniversary, we can't help but be thankful to a great God who has continuously provided for our needs as a church body. I am sincerely grateful to have found Oak Hill so quickly after moving here, and have been amazed by the many ways that God has worked since then. It makes me wonder if we think often enough about God's faithfulness in our personal lives. If I were to ask, could you point to a specific example of God's constant care for all of 18 years? I know I can.

Which brings me to the Events ministry. The way I see it, faith is a relational exercise. That is, we are called to relationship with God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, as well as each other, and deep relationships only happen when we spend time together. Regularly scheduled events provide the mechanism for fellowship. Fellowship breeds relationship. Relationship encourages discipleship and we all grow. For this reason, it is my prayer that you are genuinely excited to participate, especially on this Anniversary Sunday. I would even challenge you to introduce yourself to someone new, sit with a different group, or chase someone else's children. Your best friend or team mate might be waiting. 

As always, I do ask that you pray for more hands to help, as well as guidance in the planning and implementation of each event. Our mission is to provide an environment that encourages relationship, and that can sometimes be no small task. Praise God He is always by our side.
