The Anticipation of Gospel Opportunities

Starting a new fiscal year just recently also starts a fresh reminder of opportunities God has in store for us at Oak Hill. As elders, we have anticipated the addition of Dwight joining the elder team. Along with Dwight joining, we anticipate a fall season that can be viewed as a season of being busy or as seen as being full of opportunities. And while there is a sense of busyness to this coming fall, when we are busy in the right things we can anticipate the opportunities God has for us. While the weather impacted our ability to participate in the evangelistic opportunity of August's First Friday in Oxford, we anticipate that being rescheduled. We also know that the Solanco parade is just around the corner (be looking for that first chair to be out soon 😆). The parade provides a great opportunity to be present in our community, being a welcome face sharing the joy of Jesus and allowing our community to know where we meet as we spread the love we have for others and God! This fall we anticipate bringing back an outreach we've called Dark Night Bright Light. This event will occur during Quarryville's night of trick or treating. We want to intentionally turn on our lights, open our doors, and welcome anyone who wants not just free candy but the message we have been studying- John 1:4 "In him was life, and the life was the light of men."

While we know and have seen in John that God orchestrates the moment of salvation, we get to share that news with many children and families through this outreach event. Sometimes this is only planting the seed of the gospel, but God only asks us to plant and water as He is the one to bring the growth.  So as we approach this fall, let's anticipate participating in the many full opportunities ahead of us through the upcoming events as a church as well as the opportunities the Lord has placed in your path.
