Sunday mornings at Oak Hill are an uplifting & worshipful time. The services are aimed toward the glory and pleasure of God while intending to equip believers with a better understanding, appreciation and motivation towards the supremacy of God.
Our service meets at 9:00. After the service you are invited to a fellowship time. Then, at 11:00, is our School of Discipleship hour. Children’s classes and nursery are offered during our worship service.
| As a church we are relatively young with a median age in the thirties. The dress on Sunday morning leans toward business casual; however, on any given Sunday you will see folks wearing anything from shorts to suits. The average attendance at our worship service is roughly 60 adults at the present time.
One of the great characteristics of Oak Hill has been the welcoming of visitors. With the church growing it is encouraging to see this trend continuing. Getting to know each other is important to us, so we take a few minutes to meet and greet one another during our worship service. This is a great time to get to introduce yourself to a few people so you can continue a conversation in our fellowship time following the service. |
| Music is an exciting aspect of worship. Our style may be categorized as contemporary, using a worship team to lead the congregation during our time of musical worship. It is our aim to select music that celebrates the character and work of God. Therefore, our lyrics are carefully reviewed and often times rewritten in order to sing that which is consistent with what God has revealed. |
| Preaching is the central focus of our worship time. It is in this time that we receive instruction from God through His written Word. The pulpit ministry of Oak Hill is an expositional ministry, meaning that the preacher is committed to drawing out the author's intended meaning from the text, making it simple, clear and practical in its application. Sermons typically last 45 minutes and are the centerpiece of our time together. |
| Following the sermon we sing a closing song and a leader from the church closes us in prayer. It is typical for people to congregate together for extended periods talking about God, life, ministry and everything in between, all over a cup of coffee or lemonade! |
