In 2007, NewSong Fellowship Church in Lancaster, PA (now known as Harvest Bible Chapel, Lancaster) had it on their hearts to plant a church in Southern Lancaster County. After prayer and research, Quarryville seemed like the natural place to go as it was a central location for those who live south of Willow Street. Pastor Nate Newell was hired to lead this new church, and services began in June of 2008. By June of 2009, Oak Hill was able to become a fully autonomous local church, sharing the same doctrine and ministry strategy as our sending church, but expressing these key elements in our own way. In December of 2010, we began meeting at our current location, 15 E. State Street.
Oak Hill remains committed to help people in the Southern End and beyond see the glory of Jesus and be transformed by him as his disciples. We believe that God wants to work through his church to display his wisdom, and desires to see the gospel proclaimed, believers established in the faith, leaders raised up, and new churches planted. We are excited for how God will continue to do this in the years to come!
